"Mas Vell-Roure" has been designed with the comfort and enjoyment of your holiday party in mind. Contemporary, light and spacious with modern, high quality furnishings it is the perfect place to chill out. The main living area on the ground floor is open plan with plenty of space for relaxation and relaxed dining. Comfortable chairs and sofas are grouped around the home entertainment system and due to the wonders of modern technology you can watch the latest episode of your favourite soap or just keep up with UK news and sport. Between the dining area and kitchen is a tiled breakfast bar. The dining table seats 10 in comfort and is just a few steps away from the kitchen which is fitted with modern appliances. Fridge-freezer, gas oven and hob with extractor fan above, microwave and dishwasher are all to hand if you choose to eat in and the cupboards are well stocked with crockery, glassware and cookware. In the utility room a washing machine is also provided for your convenience. Reversible air conditioning units are in all rooms. French windows open out from the dining and living area onto the terrace and give easy access to the pool and barbecue area.The house sleeps ten in total. There are five bedrooms in the house, two doubles on the ground floor and a master bedroom and two other doubles on the first floor. There are also five bathrooms, three of which are en-suite. All the bedrooms are simply and beautifully furnished and each has ample wardrobe and drawer storage space. Each bathroom has bath and or shower, hand-basin and toilet. Four of the bedrooms have french windows opening out onto a terrace or balcony and all have fantastic views.

The en-suite to the master bedroom is something very special indeed and the words 'understated glamour' and 'luxury' spring to mind. As you enter the bathroom 'his and her' basins sit side by side. Nearby there is a large walk in shower with integral wall lights. But it is in the centre of the bathroom that we find the 'piéce de resistance'. A free-standing oval bath with swan-neck tap and shower attachment rising from the floor and a built in head cushion so you can really relax while not only sipping a glass of wine but drinking in the fantastic panoramic views across the plain, out to sea and to the distant mythical Mount Canigou in the Pyrénees. Once again spectacular views can be enjoyed from french windows that open out onto a balcony and along with the other two windows allow this room to be flooded with natural light.

Also on the first floor is a sunny day room with comfortable occasional furniture. Wooden floors give this room a cosy, homely feel and whether this becomes your 'quiet' or reading room or just a space where the kids hang out without the adults this space is a useful addition to main living area on the ground floor. The day room too has french windows which open out onto a balcony which is shared with the master bedroom and looks out over the Albérès.

The Terrace, Pool and Gardens

Much of the land belonging to the house remains natural and uncultivated for you to be able to enjoy the diversity of the wildlife and the uniqueness of the landscape. In the summer the climate and terrain attracts small lizards and geckoes. Cicadas and tree frogs will provide the unforgettable soundtrack to your holiday as they too are regular visitors. Near to the house there are some shrubs and trees together with terraced areas for making going barefoot poolside and in and out of the house more comfortable. The blue of the 10mx5m swimming pool reflects the blue of the summer skies. For the protection and safety of your party it is fenced to comply with recent French legislation and access is through a self-closing gate. A purpose brick built barbecue and food preparation area is also on the terrace with panoramic views across the plain and out to sea and across to the nearby village of Villelongue-dels-Monts.
